Grandmother Remedy For Cold Sores

Grandmother's remedy for cold sores and mouth blisters was lump alum. People have always been able to reduce such sores to negligible in a few minutes by holding a lump against the sore.

Most drug stores no longer sell this, but I've found it recently in Chinese grocery stores.

Alum powder works wonders. It does taste nasty, but it really knocks out cold sores and fever blisters. Just moisten your finger, get a little bit of that powder on the sore, and it dries it right up.
